Many years ago, I had a friend who worked at a portrait studio at the mall. At one point he made a collage out of discarded prints – legally more than questionable, yes, but also hilarious. It seemed the only way this beautiful concept could be safely shared with the world was by recreating it with a drawing in which none of the subjects will ever be recognized. Thus, I give you The Family Photo.
Half Acre Day (then lazily referred to as HAD) ended up using a version of this for the cover of your 2000 EP Here Is Something Fun for You to Do; Color This Picture. It was an outline version, suitable for coloring. Considering the rise of adult coloring books in recent years (let’s don’t get me started), it seems we were once again ahead of our time.
